A little more about me
I am a Chartered Accountant based in Gurgaon, currently a Finance Manager at Payoneer. For the last several years I have worked in the finance seats of fintech, SaaS, and e-commerce companies — mostly doing month-end close, FP&A, treasury, and the kind of process automation that makes the next month-end a little less painful.
This site is where I keep the longer version of all of it: the essays I write when I can, a short log of bike trips that would otherwise blur together, and a slightly more patient account of the work than a résumé permits.
Where I have been
-
Payoneer · Finance Manager
Closing books across global entities, tightening controls, and helping the team trade manual reconciliations for scripts that run overnight.
-
Petfully Yours · Finance Manager
Built the finance function to the point it could support fundraising and investor reporting. Dashboards that did not exist before; MIS assembled from scratch.
-
TerraPay · Manager, Finance & Corporate Treasury
Treasury operations, liquidity planning, multi-entity accounting across jurisdictions. The first job that taught me what "global" actually means in finance.
-
SquadRun · Finance Controller
First time building finance processes from the ground up. Month-end close, cost controls, and many conversations about why a number on a dashboard could not yet be trusted.
-
R Arora & Associates · Articled Assistant
The beginning. Statutory audit, tax compliance, TDS and GST, the grammar of the profession.
What I write, when I do
Infrequent essays and the occasional short story, published on Medium and linked from this site. Some are reflections on work — interviews, meetings, the strange courtesies of the finance department. Others are fiction that borrows from the same rooms.
The most recent piece is a story set in Hamburg in 1951, about a young accountant finding order in ledgers while the city around him rebuilds itself. I have been trying to write more slowly and less often.
Long rides
When the weekend and the weather both allow it, I take the bike out. Long distance preferred, hills when available. I keep a short logbook on this site — dates, distances, a few lines about the road — because trips tend to blur together if nothing is written down.
